Issue:
Accessing remote database via File Open Remote method is too long, create desktop shortcuts.

Method:
Create short cut for the hosted database

Mac:
Open Safari, enter into the address bar:

fmnet://[IP Address of database host / hostname]/[database name].fp7

Click, hold and drag the globe icon to the left of the address to the desktop. This will create a shortcut on your desktop which will automatically open the Database (Additional password for the database may be required).

To hide the .inetloc file name extention – Click on Finder > Perferences > Advanced > Tick Show all filename extentions.

To give the icon a FileNamer icon:
Get Info of the Filemake shortcut, and Get info of the FileMaker Application, Click hold and drag the large FileMaker Icon (At the bottom of the info of the FileMaker Application) and drag into the small icon of the Filemaker database info window.

Drag shortcut into dock.

PC:
Create a desktop shortcut with the syntax:
fmp7://[IP Address of database host / hostname]/[database name].fp7
